Job Overview

The Solutions Architect is responsible for the strategic planning, design, and execution of scalable, highly available, and secure software applications to meet m360’s business goals and functional requirements. This role involves defining high-level product specifications, determining functional and non-functional requirements in collaboration with the team, and leveraging in-depth knowledge of various cloud service providers and full-stack technologies to ensure system integration and feasibility.

This position is expected to provide technical leadership across the entire application development lifecycle, communicating architectural concepts and coding standards to the development team and overseeing project progress to maintain design consistency. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing technical guidance and coaching to developers, implementing best architectural practices and quality assurance principles, and managing risk associated with system, infrastructure, and project dependencies. The architect will also optimize system processes and data modeling, while providing technical proof of concepts and hands-on development for research and development activities.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the team to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications
Use tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and user interface of desired product
Develop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility
Define all aspects of development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standards
Communicate successfully all concepts and guidelines to development team
Oversee progress of development team to ensure consistency with initial design
Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers
Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility, and maintainability.
Effectively interact with internal teams to design and develop solutions to complex technical issues on highly visible opportunities
Optimize system processes and data modeling to improve end-user experience
Implement best architectural practices, guidelines, standards and procedures across the application development cycle
Identify system, infrastructure and project dependencies and balance competing demands to ensure project deliverables are achieved
Manage risk identification and risk mitigation strategies associated with the architecture.
Provide proof of concepts and do actual development if needed for research and development activities.

Qualifications

Education:

University degree – Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or related course

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years experience as a solutions architect working with web, mobile, and API-centric applications
Experience in software development and coding in various languages (Java, NodeJS etc.)
Experience designing applications leveraging AWS managed services (AWS Lambda, SES, SNS, S3)
In depth knowledge in designing and architecting scalable and highly available infrastructure with various cloud service providers
Has a working knowledge of a full stack (LEMP, LAMP, MEAN, MEVN, etc)
Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture
Excellent knowledge of UML and other modeling methods
Understanding of software quality assurance principles
A technical mindset with great attention to detail
High quality organizational and leadership skills
Outstanding communication and presentation abilities
The team will be managing work through the Scrum or Kanban framework, so good knowledge of this and how to work within it is essential
